Bachelor of Arts in Business Management – Advance Entry (Level 4 & 5) in Islamabad
The Undergraduate Level 4/5 Diploma in Business Management is a 240 credit course designed to fast-track students to the final year of an associated Undergraduate BA in Business and Management, which can either be completed on campus or via distance learning. The course is made up of 6 units of Levels 4 modules (120 credits) and 6 units of Level 5 modules (120 credits). If students decide to only study at level 4 they will only receive 120 credits and exemption from year 1 of a degree.
Each module consists of 40 guided learning hours of material with an additional 30-50 hours worth of optional materials which comprise of recommended exercises, recommended readings and internet resources. Within the modules are self-testing exercises. You must take care in answering these. Although they are not marked nor do they count towards your final assessment, the marking is tested against your scoring on the final assessment to check for consistency of score.
The modules are written against prescribed learning outcomes defined by the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) administered by Ofqual, the Government appointed regulator. In addition, the learning outcomes are articulated against MSBM Awarding Bodies curriculum who is a recognised awarding body monitored and assessed by QAA, the Quality Assurance Agency, the Government appointed quality assurance body.
Successful completion of the full Level 4/5 Extended Diploma in Management and final year of an accredited Undergraduate Degree programme, will give students the right credentials to go on and apply for a job in marketing, accounting, human resources, management or business consultancy.

LEVEL 4 – BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT
The aim of this unit to develop learners’ understanding of the dimensions of the business environment, including various business types and purpose.
LEVEL 4 – INTRODUCTION TO BUSINESS COMMUNICATION
The aim of this unit is to enhance learners’ business communication skills and enable them to operate confidently in the business world. Learners will be able to:
– Make persuasive presentations
– Negotiate convincingly
– Write reports that address and/or solve strategic problems
– Write promotional material
– Enhance their cultural awareness
– Enhance their understanding of cross-cultural communication and the role of languages in business.
LEVEL 4 – INTRODUCTION TO BUSINESS FUNCTIONS
The aim of this unit is to develop learners’ understanding of businesses types and various external influences on organisations such as the comparative environmental framework.
LEVEL 4 – INTRODUCTION TO FINANCE
The aim of this unit is to develop learners’ understanding of the current regulations governing financial reporting, as well as the purpose and formats of financial statements for different users.
LEVEL 4 – INTRODUCTION TO QUANTITATIVE METHODS
The aim of this unit is to review the basic concepts in mathematics, algebraic equations, graph construction, matrix algebra and probability that need to be understood by all business learners. The emphasis rests on applying these concepts to a variety of mathematical problems encountered in business contexts.
LEVEL 4 – RESEARCH AND ACADEMIC WRITING
The aim of this unit is to enable learners to develop effective research plans, to evaluate different research methods, to use a high standard of academic writing, and to use independent learning techniques to support their self-development.
LEVEL 5 – ACCOUNTING FOR MANAGERS
The aim of this unit is to develop learners’ skills in preparing financial statements for a variety of organisations using a range of techniques, and that comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
LEVEL 5 – BUSINESS ETHICS
The aim of this unit is to provide learners with a broad understanding of the roles and requirements for businesses to embed ethics and incorporate social responsibility. It provides learners with an understanding of the issues surrounding corporate social responsibility and ethics from national and international perspectives.
LEVEL 5 – BUSINESS LAW
The aim of this unit is to develop learners’ understanding of the concepts and principles of UK business law and the ability to apply them to practical situations.
LEVEL 5 – HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
The aim of this unit is to introduce learners to Human Resource theory and skills that underpin Human Resource Management (HRM) practices through a range of case studies.
LEVEL 5 – PROJECT MANAGEMENT
The aim of this unit is to develop learners’ understanding and skills relating to the project management principles, methodologies, tools and techniques that are used in business.
LEVEL 5 – STRATEGIC MARKETING
The aim of this unit is to provide learners with a detailed understanding of the marketing planning process and to apply these principles to a variety of business contexts. The unit also provides a comprehensive understanding of environmental analysis and how this can lead to the development of appropriate objectives and strategies to enhance operational marketing performance.
